Young Guns Dvd
Why do so many people like to watch UFC?
Last Saturday, I was out at a bar in Montreal. Just sitting back, enjoying a beer and the atmosphere in the bar at the time. When I noticed that they had the last UFC fight between Gabriel Gonzaga and Mirko Cro Cop on. As I watched, I began to notice how brutal these fight still are, as competitors punch and elbow each other in the head (not that Mirko Cro Cop did very much in the match). So, I began to wonder to myself, "How could people possibly like this?"
Ever since the fight between Lesnar and Carwin has been announced there have been multitudes of people posting "Carwin by one punch KTFO" or "I hope Carwin kills Lesnar."
Brock Lesnar has rapidly become the biggest star in The UFC. He has the record for main eventing the UFC PPV with the most buys - UFC 100 with 1.6 million buys. Since Lesnar has last fought, The UFC has failed to break the i million buy mark. They've had trouble getting anywhere near the one million buy mark which UFC 100 shattered. He has succeeded in helping to make the sport of MMA more mainstream than ever before.
There are two explanations that so many people are praying for Lesnar's demise. If you want Lesnar to fail you either hate The UFC and don't like all the money Lesnar brings in, or you feel so embarrassed that a man who used to work for WWE is The Heavyweight Champion of the largest and most prestigious organization in "your sport" that you want him to fail, no matter the cost to The UFC.
Either way, it's that absolute stupidity of those so called UFC fans that make a lot of people not even want to be associated with the sport. See how many threads you can find here that aren't littered with obscenities and writing so poor that many people posting are barely even literate. These people can't get their points across on a civil, articulate manner.
Do you think that makes The UFC appealing to major sponsors? No, they want to advertise to intelligent people who have good jobs and plenty of disposable income. Why would they care to advertise to people who can't communicate articulately in a civil manner? There isn't much reason to expect people with such severe problems communicating are able to hold much better than minimum wage jobs if they are indeed even capable of holding jobs at all. These so called fans are an embarrassment to The UFC and make Dana White's job of trying to make The UFC more mainstream just that much harder.
"I'm The AntiChrist. You've got me in a vendetta type of mood, you tell the angels in heaven you never saw evil so singularly personified as you did in the face of the man who killed you."
The Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) is a U.S.-based mixed martial arts (MMA) organization. Dana White serves as the president of the UFC; Zuffa, LLC, controlled by the casino-moguls Frank and Lorenzo Fertitta, owns it .
Inspired by Brazilian vale tudo, the UFC began in Denver, Colorado in 1993 as a single-event tournament designed to find the world's best fighters, regardless of their fighting style (whether boxing, kickboxing, wrestling, karate, Brazilian jiu jitsu or other disciplines). Although they did prescribe a limited number of rules, promoters marketed fighting in the UFC as no holds barred, and contests were often violent and brutal, leading critics like Senator John McCain to dub the sport "human cockfighting." Political pressures eventually led the UFC into the underground as pay-per-view providers nixed UFC programming, nearly extinguishing its public visibility.
As political pressure mounted, the UFC reformed itself, slowly embracing stricter rules, becoming sanctioned by State Athletic Commissions, and marketing itself as a legitimate sporting event. Dropping the no holds barred label and carrying the banner of mixed martial arts, the UFC has emerged from its political isolation to regain its position in pay-per-view television.
With a cable-television deal and expansion into Canada, Europe and new markets within the United States, the UFC as of 2009 has gained in popularity, along with greater mainstream-media coverage. As of 2009 viewers can access UFC programming on Spike in the United States and Canada, on ESPN in the United Kingdom as well as in 33 other countries worldwide.
